How to Install Outside Mount Vertical Blinds

Be sure to follow the instructions in the order shown below.

If your vertical blind only requires two brackets they are generally mounted near the two ends of track - which is about 3" to 4" from each end. If you have a window that has more than two brackets the others are spaced evenly between the two at the ends of track.
For Inside Mount Vertical Blinds Installation Instructions Click Here

1. If you added the 2" (to the height) above the trim like our measuring instructions suggest then make a mark on the wall at 1 3/4" above casing. This is where the top screw goes. If you added more than 2" to the top of casing adjust measurment accordingly. This allows for proper clearance at the floor.

2. Now drill the top screw into the mark you made with a cordless drill or screwdriver. Be sure to tighten firmly since the top screw holds the majority of the weight of the verticals in place. Then drill one screw into the lower hole of each bracket.

9. To shorten the height of the tension pulley and cord you will need to find the knot that is located on the lead carrier of the headrail. The lead carrier for a one way draw is the carrier furthest from the control end cap. For split draw tracks it the furthest of the carriers on the control side (like shown). There is a knot on both sides of the carrier, be sure you select the one that is farthest away from the control end of track.

10. Put a double knot in the cord and try to traverse the track back and forth. You'll want to be sure that you shortened the right cord before cutting off the excess. Next, install the tension pulley by placing a screw in the lower hole. Make sure the cord is plumb. If not, it will be very noticable after the vanes installation.

14. Installation of the valance. Hold the valance up to the headrail and make sure it's centered. Place the top side of valance into the valance flanges and hit face edge firmly with your palm until seated into flange tooth as shown.

15. Along with the valance you received two side returns for each window along with a pair of corner clips. Hold the side return up to the wall like shown and make a mark where it meets front edge of valance.
